SYDNEY'S TRAFFIC.
« UNDERGROUND AND UNDERSEA SCHEME. The Now South Wales Minister for Works (Mr. Griffith) on Thursday last niado an important announcement concorning the doings of Mr. Hay, the English expert the State Premier brought out lo attack the problem of Svdnvy's coiiee-st-ed Ira Hie. -Mr. Hay considers that ho has now about completed the task which was imposed upon him. lie has been north, south, east, and west. His observations have been made from the land and from the water. The whole thing now resolves itself into a question of X s. il. Mr. Hay has in view a comprehensive scheme for linking up the whole of the metropolis by underground ami submarine railways. The details of the scheme will not 'be available till Parliament meets; but it is a eolossa! one, and, if carried out, will involve an enormous expenditure of money. "Mr. Hav Ims worked out his scheme," said the Minister for Works (Mr. Griiiith).
