ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL.
A meetins of tho Onslow Borough Court, cil was held last night. The Mayor (Mr. V. Holdsworth) presided, and there, were also present Councillors Lynneberg, Gardiner,' Bowden, Batos, Stafford, Dingwall, Aplin, and Darvall. _ . Resolutions were passed in connectionwith the raising of the 10 per cent, additional TChoiulallah Hall loan of .CISOO. Applications for junior clerkship were opened and referred to a committee of four, including the Mayor. The committee will report to a future meeting. A further letter was received from l/»'vin and Co. regarding the proposed siding at Station Road. The resolution passed' at a special meeting giving consent for the siding on condition that an overhead bridge was constructed, was withdrawn by common consent. It was decided to obtain the borough solicitor's opinion as to the council's responsibility and liability—(l) under tho terms of the Tramways Act, 1!H)8, «"d (2) under general powers. The VSovoujih Council is desirous of giving- Levin and Co. all reasonable assistance in •the mutter. , On tho recommendation of the Public Works Committee it was decided, to accept the offer of the Hospital Hoard for the services of their inspector of nuisances tor VJI2-UM.
