(From Our Spec'al Correspondent.) Palmerston, May 16. The Finance Committee set up at the special mealing .of parishioners of All Saints' Church met last evening, and it was decided to go on* with a portion of tho new building scheme as soon as the plans are ready. . With a. view to framing tho estimates for the ensuing year, the Mayor and members of the Borough Council nuulo a tour of the borough yesterday afternoon, in order to acquaint themselves with works required in tho near future. Mr. T. 1!, Hodder, of Falincr,;ton, has been nominated *fo»' the position of president of the Manawatu A. and P..-Associa-tion.. Mr. Hodder has been a member of the General Committee of tho association for a number of years. A complimentary ."social" is to be tendered to the Mayor and Mayoress (Mr. J. A. Nash and Mrs. Nash) on Wednesday ■evening next. The Manawatu Hunt held a successful "meet" lit Tiakitnhuuii yesterday afternoon. A field of some thirty riders (including a number of ladios) followed the hounds over four courses.
