WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY.

' The Wellington Presbytery met at St. John's Church on Tuesday evening, the Rev. Wm. Douglas, M.A., presiding. The Rev. J. Standring was present and was associated with the' Presbytery. The Rev. Dr. Gibb reported that the co'mniittee appointed for the purpose had decided, after consultation with the various districts concerned, to recommend that Miramar and Seatoun be joined to Island Bay as a homo mission, station, under the session of St. James's, Newtown. Tho Presbytery approved of the recommendation, the alteration to take effect from the beginning of June. Miss Ramsay, the recently-appointed travelling secretary of tho Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union, was received and welcomed by the Moderator. Miss Ramsay bespoke the co-operation of the ministers of Hip city and suburbs during her visit to Wellington, in order that her work of organising might be niado as effective as possible. Dr. Gibb presented the ■ third annual report of ,-the Presbyterian Orphanage and ' Social Service Association. Gratification was expressed at the extremely encouraging features of tho year's work, and at' the remarkable progress made since the inception of this institution. The Presbytery approved of the suggestion of the Orphanage committee that a snecial collection be rondo in all the churches on the third Sunday in Jinio, and asked ministers to bring the needs of tho Orphanago and tho importance of the work under the attention of their congregations, and urge them to respond as generously as possible.

The R«v. Messrs. Gibson Smith, Inglis, and Shircr, and Messrs. Hannay and Gaudin were appointed to carry eu't the visitation of the Kelburne congregation.

The Rev. B. Hutson was elected Moderator of the Presbytery for the ensuing sii months. '
