DOMESTIC FATALITY
DRINKING- OF METHYLATED SPIEITS. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Christehurcfi, May 15. The inquest on tlxo death of Helen , Goscomb developed sensationally to-day, the woman's husband being charged with manslaughter. Tho evidence showed that Goscomb and his wife were- continually drinking and quarrelling, and on Sunday at midday Goscomb hit his wife a severe blow on tho chin. The woman's body was subsequently found in an otithonse. The coroner returned a. verdict that tho roman died of heart fniluro induced by a blow inflicted by Frank Goscomb. The latter was then formally charged with manslaughter, and remanded till May 23. In tho course of (lie hearing it caiuo out that Goscomb and his wife had been drinking methylated spirits.
