KARORI AFFAIRS.

MEETING 'OF THE COUNCIL,

The fortnightly meeting of tho Karori Borough Council was held last evening, there being present: The Mayor (Mr. C. Cathie), and Councillors Hiidreth, Anderson, Bradnock, Frost, Horn, Burn, Hamilton, Standen, ar.d Nimmo.

A deputation (for which Mr. was the principal speaker) waited upon the council with a ret/nest that consideration be given to the urgent matter of lighting tho. right-of-way or track which gave access to certain streets in the vicinity of Espin Crescent. The Mayor, in reply to the representations made, promised that the matter would be kept in view when tho estimates were being considered.

It was resolved to ask Mr. C. I; Dasent to represent the council at the Assessment Court, which, will sit shortly to hear objections to valuations in the borough. The council resolved that upon the receipt of ,£77 7s. 7d. from the Lancaster Estate Company, the formation of a portion of Fowlds Street should be proceeded with.
