THE DIRECTORS IN COURTLONCI PARLIAMENT ACT CITED. EVERY LEGAL OBJECTION TO BE URGED. By Telesrraph—Preaa Assodatlon-Oopyrteht (Keo. liny 10, 9.20 p.m.) Sydney, May 10. Mr. Knox, managing director, and four other directors of tho Colonial Sugar Company, are being charged with refusing to give evidence before the Sugar Commission. Counsel for tho defence deolnrcd that it was intended to take every legal objection, and challenged the right of tho Commonwealth Government to appoint a Royal Commission; he also challenged the right of the Governor-General to appoint a Commission, except by Ordei-in-Council. He declared that tho Long Parliament passed an Act in 1610 to provent the King from inquiring into the private affairs of citizens. The case was adjourned till' Tuesday.
