WHERE TO GO TO-DAY.
The biggest game to-day will be played ft Petone, where the home team ate to meet St. James. It should bo a good battle: both teams are of the etern, hardplaying sort, and they are both likely to force the pace. Oriental play Poneke on the Park No. 1 ground, and unless something untoward happens, Oriental should win. This matdh should bo ft good spectacle, for the Black and Whites will do their best to give the ball lots of air, and Poneke's only hope is to keep it at their feet. Melrose should bo able to.beat Wellington on the No. 2 ground. AHilc-io have to go to Hutt to play Victoria College,- ami Old Boys play Southern at Karori.
IRELAND AND WALES. Un resuming-play tho homo side, in a minority of 5 points, worked desperately hard,- but 18 minutes elapsed before they gained a try, and.this failed to be converted from a difficult place-kick. However, a minute, later the Irish captain dropped a lightning goal, and put hi 3 side 2 points ahead. Thence till wiium five minutes of tho end the game was.very evenly fought, matters then being clinched by a gwnd rush by the Irish hmavf enabling one of their number to get through the Welsh defence, and an easiivnegotiateii goal resulting, a really good match ended with the scores ns fol owIrelaud, 12 points (1 K°al, 1 dropped goal, 1 try); Wales; 5 points (1 goal;.
