LOCAL GOVKRXIXG BODY. The Wellington Football Association met last night. Mr. 11. M'Keowen presided. If was resolved to commence the school matches on May IS. Ten teams have been entered for the competition. Mr. W. F. Clark reported that a )'etone. player had "used abusive epithets" towards him during a match. iThe Association decided to ask the player whom the referee said he thought was tho offender to appear and explain his conduct. So far as he had been able to detect, the offenders were youths. He had not. heard any more • offensive ianguago after his caution. It was resolved to bring the matter under the notice of the .lohnsonville Club.
Severn! letters werb received complaining that referees hail failed to appear at playing grounds to tabs charge of matches which had been allotted to them. It was decided to call a meeting of the Referees' Association at once to discuss these matters. A report is io be made to tho controlling body by next Wednesday. Wanderers protested against Referee Wimlley's conduct of their second division match against Tons at J'oririia. on April 2*.
