The Metropolitan Hockey Club held a smoke concert at Scott's, Manners Street, last evening. Mr. J. C. s Cnsack presided. Amongst those present Vere Sfr. C. .51. Cathie (chairman), and Mr. A. A. Befinett (secretary of the Wellington Hockey Association). The following toasts were given and replied to:—"Metropolitan Hockey Club," proposed by Mr. Cameron, and replied lo by Mr. AV. Muldon; "Wellington Hockey Association" (coupled with the Referees' Association), by ih\ M.arsliall, and replied to by Mr. C. M. Cathie and Mr. M'Kenzie (secretary of the Referees' Assocoalion); "Kimlred Sports," by Mr.. J. 11. and rcsuonded to by Mr. A.. A. Bennett: "The Ladies." by Mr. Baker, and responded to by Mr. fieg". Thompson; and "The Press."

During the course of the evening itoms were givtjn by "Messrs. Tinney, J. H. Muldon, A. A. Dennett, W. Miildon, Cnldicott, Hunter, Robinson, Baker, Drury, and Kitching. A presentation was made to Mr. H. E. Xicholls (vice-president). This took the. shape of a framed photograph of the 19!)9 team, who won tho junior championship that year. ItEFEBEES APPOINTED.
