In connection with the National Insurance scheme, Mr. Davies, president of the National Conference of Friendly Societies, stated that if the doctors insisted on all the cardinal points of their demands, including a 40s. a week incomo limit, the friendly societies vrould fight the question on a commercial basis. It is semi-officially stated that Mr. Lloyd-George (Chancellor of the Exchequer) is now irilling to allow the doctors nearly Bs. 6d. per head annually. This will add a million and a half yearly to the cost of insurance.
