UPPER HUTT TO WELLINGTON. "-Ask and ye jhnll receive," appears to Iμ the motto of the new Minister for Itnilwnys (the Hon. A. Myers). Only a few days ngo a deputation troin the Lower Hutt approached tho Minister with n slipaf o) idws <!ftlciilH(eil to, improve , tho railway service between the city and the Hull:, and were elntcit io iiiul their mission entirely successful. Jt is only a matter of slays since another de])iitation from the Upper Jlult district made representation!) to the Minister urging him io improve the I ruin service between that suburb mid rho city. As a result estensive iilteratinns have been made in the n>rviec which iviil menn one extra daily and one bi-weekly train each ivny between Upper Unit anil Wellington, and one nddiitioiial train on Sunday for the Upper mid Loner I-liilt. The al'lered service, to come into operation on J ll no 1, will be as follows:— The (rain which now leaves Upper Ilntt for Wellington at 0.30 a.m. will, on 'and after June I, leave at 6.25 a.m., arriving in Wellington at 7.27 a.m. This arrangement will give workers the opportunity of catching tlie 7.1H) ii.m, workers' tramcar. The train whicii at. present leaves Upper Hiitt at 7.45 a.m., will not leave until 7.50 fl-lii., and will arrive in Wellington at 8.51 a.m. This is a concession to those who have to reach their places of business at 9 a.m. I A train will leave Upper Hutt at fi.4o a.m., arriving in Wellington at 9.52 a.m. The train which now leaves Upper Hutt pi 7.20 p.m., -will leave at G., r >B p.m., reaching Wellington at 8.10 p.m. A train will leave Upper Hutt at S.-iO p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, arriving in town at 10.52 p.m. • I The 7.9 a.m. train from Wellington to the Upper Hutt, will leave at 7.S cm., arriving at Upper Hutt at 8.17 a.m. This cuts down the time for this train by nine minutes. The 5.29 p.m. train to Upper Hutt will run to the Lower Hiilt only. The G. 17 p.m. train from town will leave at 6.11 p.m., and will ruir riglit through to the Upper Hutt instead of to the Lower Htitt las at present. This is to meet the requirements of workers who cannot leave their work in time to travel bv an earlier train. . Tho 3.25 p.m. train from town will not leave until 10.35 p.m.. and will arrive at Uppar Hutt at li..'i" p.m. The present 11.30 p.m. train from town, which at present only runs on Saturdays, will run on Mondays, Wednesdays, Snrimlays. Oil Sundays the 8.44 p.m. train from town which at present only runs to Lower Hiitt, will rim through, arriving at Upper Hutt at. 9.43 p.m. On the same day a (rain will leave Upper Hutt for Wellington at $.50 a.m., arriving in town at 9.50 a.m.
