THE JUDGE'S PECULIAR REMARK. By Telegraph—Prese Association—Copyright (Rec. May 7, 9.25 p.m.) Sydney, May 7. 'Alfred Smith was found guilty of breaking into a house at Band trick; also with shooting at Thompson, tho occupier, with intent to murder. Ho was sentenced to fourteen years on tho first count, and to life on the second count. The Judge remarked that he wottld leave it to tho Executive to decide what tho sentence meant.
