TOWN HALL CHAIRS.

Sir,—Having visited most of the world's largest halls, I think that the chairs which form the seating accommodation in tho Town Hall of the city are the worst I have ever seen, that is, talcing them from a comfortable point of view. Now take, for instance, the attendances at both the organ and orchestral concerts, which are _<liracofn 11y poor compared with other liirge cities. To enjay good niusic, one_ a comfortable seat. It is now time for the city authorities to take o hnnd in the matter, and nroviile somo better. means of comfort. If that was done, I think tho conductor of our city orchestra would be rewarded by far larger attendances than at present. Thanking, you foi your valuable space,— I am, etc., SOFT SEAT.
