FEATHERSTON ITEMS.
At a meeting of tho South Wairarana River Board hold on Saturday last the following resolution was passed: "That this board strongly objects to tho abolition of Biver Boards as proposed in the new Local Government Bill.' A copy oi this resolution will be sent, to the chairman of tho conference to be held in Wellington on May 21. The chnirmnn (Mr. A. Matthews) and treasurer (Mr. 0. Donald) will represent the board at the meeting'of delegates from the district local bodies to be held in Jlnsterton on Wednesday. At the S.M. Court on Monday, U. Fenwiclc, of Kaiwniwai, ivn? charged with a breach of the Apiaries Act, IMS, liv emitting to comply with n dircMion (.'!'•'«> by F. A. .lacobsen. an inspector under the Act, to take steps to cure the disease j known as "foul brood" in !>ecs. Defendant .admitted the offence, and was fined 10s., with costs 7s.
