Two ounces lard, 2oz. butter, lib. flour, a tcaspoonful of baking powiter, p-jicii of salt, 21b. apples, cloves, Mignr to taste. Mix the Hour, salt, and baking powder in a basin; add the butter and lard, ami rub them into the flour until there are no lumps left; mix to a stiff paste with water; turn on to a floured board, and work ontt tho cracks; roll out; peel, core, and slice the apples, put them me - ) a Jiiedish with tho sugar, cloves, and a, little water; cover with pastry, and cook for about an hour in a hot oven. FOR TO-MORROW. Carrots. Stock. Leg of mutton.
