BRITISH PAKTICIPATION. By Telesnph—Press Association—Copyright. London, May 3, In the House of Commons the Prime Minister (Right Hon. H. H. Asquith), in reply to Mr. J. F. Mason (Unionist member for Windsor) said the Government was negotiating with the Porte in respect of British participation in the BagdadBasra railway in return for compensation elsewhere. He had thought of others interested in that section of the line, and any negotiations with the Porte would bo subject to conditions regarding German participation.
