PRESENTED TO MINISTERS. (By Tolojra.ph-Presa Association.) Auckland, May 3. A letter protesting against tho imprisonment of those who havo refused to comply with the requirements of the Doi'enco Act was addressed to tho Minister for Defence by the president of tho Auckland Branch of the International Arbitration and Peace Association, and by tho president of tho Anti-Militarist Council. A reply has been received in which tha Minister says that he can only repeat hie former statement that, as Minister tor Defence, it is his duty to see that tho law, as it stands at present, is carried out. "You arc under a misapprehension," tho letter continues, "if you understood me to say that no more imprisonment would take place. Ton have sines waited upon the Prime Minister in regard to this subject, and I can only soy that I am in agreement with the statements which ho expressed."
