Cameron, and M'lntosh. Ell left for tho Mannwatu district-to-day, Last evening,, in reply to a request from the Mayor of /N anganui East, the' Minister promised to obtain an immediate report on the matter of establishing a now central Post Office at Wanganui East, in place of the two small offices now existing. A site in the centre of the suburb has already been presented for a now Post Office. _■••■' During his stay here Mr. Ell availed himself; of an invitation from tho Harbour Board to inspect the harbour works at Castlecliff.' where evidently he -was very surprised and impressed with • tho results obtained. He said that as a member of tho Lscnl Bills Committco he had listened carefully to the evidence on the Boards Empowering Bill last year, and came to a decision on what ho heard. N'ow, however, that he had been actually on the spot and seen for himself what had been done, he had come t/j a different conclusion, and was satisfied that the works would bo a success.
