THE SADLER CASE.
: ACCUSED IN CHRISTCHUKCH. <By Telesraph-Proi-a Association.) Christchurcii, May 1. Walter Richard Sadler, who was remanded to Christchnrch from the Magistrate's Court, Wellington, yesterday, made his appearance before Mr. H. \Y, jLiiahop, S.M., at tko Christchurcii Court to-day. Owing to tho late arrival of the Mnraroa, it was act till past 12 o'clock that Iho prisoner entered the dock, and by that time tho curious spectators at the court bad departed. ' Tho prisoner, who was carefully attired in a green suit, looked nervous and pole, his pallor being accentuated by his shock of disordered brown hair. The charges brought against him wero to the cQ'eot) that on two occasions, namely, on April 26 nt Wellington, and on the StU of tho tame month at Kaiapoi, lie used a certain instrument for an unlawful purpose on a Birl. On the application of Chief Detective Bishop, Sadicr was remanded till Wcdnc*. day, May 8. Bail was allowed tho accused in Xl5O and (wo sureties of JG7S cacli, this being the snmc bail which ho had been alteweil by tho Wollinctou Court. |
