WELLINGTON BOARD APPOINTMENTS. In considering the question of appointing a successor to its third inspector— appointed recently to the prineipalsbip of tiio Teachers' Training College—the. Wellington Education Board yesterday decided that tho growth of the school population and the extension of the teaching establishments in ,tho district vrarrnuted an additional inspector, and from tho list of applicants for the advertised position selected by ballot Mr. A. IS. Charters, M.A., at present headmaster of tho Greytown District High School, and Mr. F. G. Stuck*}-, M.A., headmaster oi the Island Bay School. The now inspectors are old eervants ot ilie Wellington Board, and well known i< most of the teachers in the service, inch holds a Bl certificate. Mr. Charters is recognised by bis contemporaries es a most capable teacher, and possesses a personality which enables him to (ret quickly into touch with pupils and teachers anke. Hβ is also commanding officer for tho Second Battalion of tlio 9th (East Cwist) N.Z. Infantry Kegimont, saw torvico in South Africa, and is generally recognised as a kci>ri citizen spinier. Mr. nliu'key holds high qualifications in science, ami has distinguished himself in laboratory work at Victoria College.
