ISLAND FRUIT.

SHIPMENT BY THE TAHITI. The steamer Tahiti, which arrived from Earotonga on-Friday evening brought a shipment of' some 1200 cases of bananas ami oranges, and Saturday and yesterday saw busy times at the Allen and Blair Street markets, whilst the fruit was being auctioned. Tho oranges arrived in excellent condition, and the bananas, too, were in good order, although a few were ripe. The oranges sold at ss. to 6s. per case, tho bulk quitting at tho lower figure. Bananas realised from 9s. to lis. Gd.
