The elections were keenly contested, and the polling was exceptionally heavy. (The returns are incomplete, but a.substantial Liberal victory is assured. LIBERALS WELL IN THE LEAD, (flee. April 21), 1.25 p.m.) Brisbane, April 28. The latest election figures show that the Liberals are leading in forty-five electorate!. Labour in twenty-four, end Independent in three. In the. last Parliament the figures were, respectively, forty-one, twenty-six, and five. All the Ministers are lending comfortably. The Teturn of Mr. Bowman, leader of the Labour party, is assured. Mr. Coyne, leader of the Inte strike, is also in a strong position.
