For Auckland—Miss Nicholl. | TAHITI ARRIVES, At 8 o'clock last night R.M.S. Tahiti berthed at the Queen's Wharf, from San Francisco, via the Island ports. After waiting 52 hours over her duo sailing time, for mails from England, the vessel cleared San Francisco on April 5, and arrived at Papeete on April 16. She left on the following day for Rarotonga, at which port she loaded a quantity of fruit for New Zealand port 3, after which she left for Wellington on April 20 at 7 a.m. Beautiful weather conditions prevailed throughout the voyage. The vessel has a large general cargo to land at Wellington, and also hns cargo for Australian ports. The Tahiti is timed to leave for Sydney dircct at 5 o'clock to-day. 1
WEATHER ON TEE WEST COAST. Telographic reports received by the U.S.S. Company yesterday indicated that the Greymoutli bar is absolutely unworkable, and, in consequence, the Mapourika was obliged to omit her usual call at that port. She returned to the Westnort roadstead at 6 o'clock yesterday moruins, but was unable to enter until 10 a.m. She was to have left at 6 o'clock last night, on the return trip to Wellington. Provided that weather conditions are suitable, the Xavua, was expected to get away from Westport last evenine with a , load of coal for Wellington. The weather conditions at Westport are also .bad. The Mapottrilti. is duo to arrive at Wellington at about 4 o'clock this afternoon. : ," : SUSSEX LEAVES FOR HOME. Yesterday afternoon, the F.-E.-S. liner Sussex left Lyltelton for Avonmouth. via, Lns Pplmas. The vessel has on board the following saloon passengers:—Miss Lewis, Jfr. and 3lrs. J. Rod (Wellington), Sirs. Wackrow, and Mr. \V. Itortney. She also took twenty steerage passengers. KUAHIXE REPORTED. The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Ruahine cxpects to arrive at Hobart at daybreak this morning. The vessel .is expected to leave Jlobart on Sunday morning, and is due here on Thursday. THE AMOKCRA. Now on the way from Half Jfoon Bay, Stewart Island, to Wellington, via the West Coast, the New Zealand training ship Amokura passed Farewell Spit yesterday morning at 10 o'clock. She is expected to arrive early this morning. TAKEN FROM WELLINGTON. The Tyser liner Nerehnna, which left port for Lvttelton yesterdo.y afternoon, took the following cargo from Wellington: -1097 bales wool, 130 bales (lax. 1015 casks tallow, 111 casks pelts, 546 sacks peas, 29 casos type, 33,056 carcasses mutton, 14,768 carcasses lamb. N.Z. SHIPPING COMPANY'S VESSELS. Tho Hakaia and Kaipara arrived at London on April 22 and 24 respectively. Tho Bemuera, _ which arrived from the south to-day. sails for London on Thursday next. The Hurunui is to leavo Wellington on Tuesday next for London.
Scarcity of railway trucks and heavy ram liayc combined to delay tho Rimutaka s discharge somewhat at Timaru. She was expected to be clcar of her London cargo on Thursday, and yesterday due at Port Chalmers to commence her Homeward loading. According to a southern exchange, the smart little schooner Joseph Sims has been purchased by a Ifobart firm, and will shortly enter the Tasmanian coastal trade. She is at present loading cargo at Dunedin, and will proceed to Kaipara, where she will load a cargo of timber for Hobart. The Dunedin agents for tho Shaw, Savill and Albion Company received cable advice on Wednesday evening stating that tho Pakelia arrived at Sydney from London at 2 p.m. on Wednesday.' .She was to have left on Thursday for Dunedin direct, at which port she is due on Tucsdav morning. The To Anau is expected to arrive this evening with a cargo of produco from Timaru direct. The Hauroto is to sail for Westport this evening, and from there to Auckland.
