INCREASE OF WITHDRAWALS.
Tho statement of Post Office l Saving! Bank transactions during tho first quarter of the present year, as Gazetted last uignt, shows that compared with tho first quarter of 1911, there was a largo increases of withdrawals. Tho excess of deposits over withdrawals in tho March quarter of 11)11 was .£323,501 Os. 4d., and iu tho quarter ending March 31, 1912, it was only .£195,789 Bs. 7d. Iu some districts during last quarter, tho withdrawals actually exceeded tho deposits by y.uisiderable sums.
