(By Telegraph-Special Correspondent.) Wanganui, April 19. The ■\Yansanui Cricket Association last night considered a letter from tho NewZealand Cricket Council asking what financial support tho association would give (0 a proposal to fond a New Zealand team to Australia next summer, and suggesting that the association should Rua'rnntee ,£25, to be refunded pro rata, in tho event of a profit beinjr mode, on tho tour. After discussion, it was decided that tho association could not see its way clear to guarantee any amount. It was pointed out that the benefit to lie derived from a visit to tho minir associations was practically nil. Tho Wanganui association had not received at any timo a request to nominate players for New Zealand teams, although they had always contributed towards the cost of bringing over visiting teams. In reply to a letter from (he Wellington Wednesday Cricket Association, stating that they were considering a proposal to bring over a Victorian team next season, and asking if the local association were prepared to play them, it was resolved to ask for fuller information, and also what cuaranlce was required. Mr. Kcllow, the home missionary recently appointed to the charge of the Gonvillc Wesleyan Church, was welcomed by residents "at a social gathering lnst_ evening. An old man named Patrick Kcegan. :>. resident of Wanganui East, disappeared from his home on Saturday last, and no trace of him has been found since. Search parlies are out.
