Y.M.C.A. OLD BOYS' CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. Mr.' Atkinson presided at the annual meeting of tho Old Boys' Club, which wns held in the llcception Hall of tho Y.M.C.A. on Thursday, there being somo thirty present. The past year had: been, ono uf tho most successful in the. history of tho club, and this was duo in no great measure to the wholo-hearted efforts displayed by (ho chairman. In connection with tho departure of Mr. Holmes (lata chairman), tho club desires to express their very sincerest wishes for his welfare and success in his new sphero of life in the United States. Tho club held a successful encampment, nt Fnekakariki last Christmas, and thanks are duo to .Messrs. Smith Bros, for allowing the camp to be pitched on their land. Tho religions side of tho club has not been overlooked, but emphasised more- than before. The weekly Biblo Class held before the main meeting has been well attended. It is with deep regret that wo have (o record the death of one of our most enthusiastic members, Mr. Vernon Itichurdson, who was killed while out with the D 1 lattery at Petono Tho election of officers for tho ensiling year resulted as follows:—President, Mr. 31. Mnthieson; chairman, Mr. F. C. Atkinson (re-elect-ed); lion, secretary, Mr. i), Mabin; committees—Religions, Messrs. W. Baker, K. Coad, and J. Lennox; membership, Messrs. 11. Lay, M. ilodge, and 11. Pntchctt; social and games, Messrs. E. Koberls, W. Wilson, and 11. M'Uirr. It was decided that tho chairman of each of these committees, together with the other officers of the club, form an executive committee. After the election of the officers practices of tho Shakespeare Club and Nigger Minstrel Troup wero held in preparation for the coming concort, at which all Uio old boys of tho association aro specially invited. Everything augurs well for tho success of tho club during the coming winter, and an endeavour is to be made to start a boxing class, debating club, and a glee club, iu addition to the various activities already in hand.
