Tho Orient Company has sold tho steamers Orient and Ormuz to foreign buyors.. , ■ IBotlv theso steamers have ben employed in the London-Australian trade for some years past, and until recently were rcgu-. far traders 1 in the service. The Orient is an iron screw four-masted steamer of 5453 tons net, and 3434 tons gross register. She was built in 1879 by J. Wider and Co., Glasgow, for tho late owners. Her dimensions are:—Length, 445.6 ft.; breadth, 463 ft,; depth, 351 ft. The Ormuz is a steel screw steamer of 6465 tons net, and 3202 tons gross register. She was built in 1886 by Fairfield Co., Ltd., Glasgow, for her late owners. Her dimensions are:—Length, 465.5 ft.; breadth, 52.1 ft.; t depth, 19.1 ft. 1 ATHENIO, FOIt LONDON. Motueka Harbour.—Harbour construction works—Tho Motueka Harbour Board have notified that during the progress of dredging a now channel -to the Moutore Lagoon dredging oporations will bo commenced at once risht in tho fairway to Motueka Harbour, (ind ono dredgo-moori'ng will bo stretched across tho channel. Tho dredgo will Bhow at night-time two red lights, in a vertical lino one over the other, not less than 6ft. apart, as well as tho usual anchor-lights, and a watchman will be on duty. It is also notified that three mooring-piles will bo driven near the approach to Motueka Harbour, situated as follows:—Just ontside or at tho harbour entrance ono pile (which is used for the dredge-mooring), will bo 50 fathoms distant on the starboard hand from the line of leading lights and beacons, one pile 50 fathoms distant, on the po« hand, and ono pilo 95 fathoms distant on the port hand situated on tho south bank of the .Moutcre River. These piles will be marked by white beacons, and white lights will be hoisted at night. Yachtsmen, boatmen, and others entering tho North Channel will need to avoid other mooring-piles and dredge mooringcables at the entrance to Moutere La soon.
