HUTT AND PETONE NEWS.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) The annual meeting of the Hutt Gun Club was held on Wednesday night at the Family Hotel, Lower Hutt, Mr. S. Scott, president, being in the chair. Tho statement of accounts showed ii credit balancc and a vote of .£lO 10s. was nwarded the secretary for his services during the year. Mr. J. Brnssel was appointed the "club's delegate to tho New Zealand Gun Club Association meeting to be held at Wanganui. It was decided to hold a club event next Wednesday, for the Atkin and Wilford trophies. Messrs. S. Scott's and J. Brassel's oft'er of trophies to be competed for this season were accepted with thanks. The election of odicers resulted _as follow:—Patron, Mr. A. Gadsby; president, Mr. S. Scott; vicepresidents, Messrs. S. V. Burridge, F. Gadsby, J. Brassel; secretary, J. Scholes; committee, Messrs. P. Casey, S. Edwards, W. Phillips, W. Meagher, F. Gadsby, W. Kilminster, R. Pliilp. Mr. Casey was reelected scorer and handicapper and heartily thanked for his past services. A hearty vote of approval was accorded tho retiring committee, special reference being mndo of the services rendered by the president, Mr. S. Scott.
