CASE OF MRS. ELIOTT.
AND THE ALIEN LAW,
(By Telegraph.—Pross Association.) Palmerston N., April 17. Messrs. Mcllsop Eliott and Co. have received intimation from tho Union Steam Ship Co. that tho Orient Company has cabled its willingness to tako Mrs. Eliott back to Colombo, provided a £100 bond is entered into for her leaving Australia. This is being done. [It will be remembered that Mrs. Eliott recently found, when desirous of booking a passage back to Ceylon, that certain difficulties occurred in consequence of a curious application of Australian alien law, and consequently sho was for tho time being unable to leave New Zealand.]
