A strong rear wind—a Treotham "fishtail"—made tho conditions ertremcly difficult,' niul as a <<onso(]iiciu'o the scorns of boili clubs were very much balow (he average. Only 7 out of th« 40 marksmen on the range were, able to Ret scores of more than 90 out of the possible. 105. J he Karuri leant led at 300 yards by fiv* points , , but this deficit was inado up by I'etono at f>oo yards, and both loams went back to the'6llo yards mound with equal scores. There, however, the Karon team managed to 'again establish a lead, winning 'tin; match on the GOO yards score by 15. points. In the No. 2 division Petonc suffered defeat by (i 7 points. In this match tho score made by the Karbri No. 2 team at 5(10 yards was higher then th<it put up by oil her of the first teams. At the conclusion of the match the members of the I'elone teams were entertained by 'tho Karori Club to afternoon ten. President Mn.rshn.ll, of tho winning team, expressed the great pleasure his club had bad in once again meeting tho Petono Club in friendly battle on fho mounds.
