OLYMPIC COUNCIL.
A meeting of the Olympic Council of New Zealand was held at the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening, Mr. A. Marryatt being in the chair. A communication was received from the New Zealnnd Swimming Association (Christchurch), nominating M. E. Champion (Auckland) as a member 6f the team for Stockholm, and a further telegram was received from the same body advising that the sum of ,£IOO had been guaranteed towards Champion's expenses. It was resolved to inform the Swimming Council that the Olympic Council would be pleased to nominate Champion, but could not do so until the sum of .£175 had been received. It was pointed out that the funds already in hand and in sight would be barely sufficient to cover the expenses of G. N\ Hill ;md A. Wilding. A letter was received from G. If. Hill, stating that he had arrived iu Sydney, after a good trip. Ho desired to be entered in tho one mile and four miles at the English championship meeting.
