The chairman of tlio Chamber of Commerce (Mr. A. 13. Mabin) has given notice that ]i« will move, at the next councij meeting of the Chamber of Commerce:—
"That in view of the isolation of Wellington City from its country distriqts, aud the need for bringing the citv and country into closer touch, a committee bo set up to report at once: (1) On (ho improvement desirable in tho railway service to the Wairnrapa. (•') On the improvement desirable m ISo railway service to Manawalu. (;)) On the'siißKCstiMl deviation of tho Muimwnlu laihvay line through AfcaInrawii Viilley. (1) On tho best method of improving' tho main retail liißlncnys lo (ho Mnnan-ntn and Wiunirana, so that stock, vehicle, and motor traffic between town and country mnv be carried en in sofety, nnd on roaue creditable ta ton sr°x""V'-
