WELLINGTON SHAKE JIAKKET. Talismans improved slightly on Saturday, and wore sold up to <3s. 9(1. Intiuirics made in various quarters have failed to clieit satisfactory reasons for tho l'ccent decline in these shares. Nothing has occurred within tho mine since tho Easter holidays to depress the shares. On the contrary, the position appears to have improved. In 'endeavouring to fix on a. cause for tile decline, many interested in the shares have come lo the conclusion that iconic weak holders have been forced to sell; and this seems likely enough. It is very probable that tome of tho punters have had to he financed over the bank balance, and are now unable to meet their engagements. The pawned Talisman shares arc, therefore, being forced for sale. If this view of the situation is correct, as soon as the weak holders have been cleaned out, the shares will stonily.
