LANCASHIRE REVOLT CAPSIZES. RIOTING AT ATHERTON. Br Telegraph—Press Association—CoDrrlieht London, April 12. Somo of the railway companies have notified collieries that a condition for the carriago of coal must be a guarantee of a supply to the extent of 20 per cent, of the , quantity carried. Many of the colliery owners strongly protest. The revolt in South Lancashire has collapsed. The troops overawed the young desperadoes. Thousands of miners who are working at AVigan havo protested against the police and squads of soldiers) parading the districts. Four thousand strikers at Atherton, Lancashire, attempted to destroy tho hoardings at a pityard. The police dispersed them. The South Wales surfacemen's demands have been settled. PRICE OF COAL FALLS. TROUBLE WITH THE ENGINEMEN. (Rec. April 14, 5.5 p.m.) London, April 13. The price of coal in London hasr fallen ten shillings a ton. Mr. Morgan, the Rhondda miners' agent, has declared that unless tho enginemcn are more reasonable the Miners' Federation will be under the painful necessity of telling its members to take the places of the enginemen and stokers.
