WATCHMAN G.M. COMPANY. The mine manager reports for week end' ed April 4:—The intermediate level at tha top oi the No. 1 rise has been advanced a. total distance of 8 feet ill a. northerly direction. The roof is about 5 feet wide, and shows zinc blend and sulphides at intervals. No. 2 rise: This rise has been advanced 6 feet, making a total of 102 feet from the floor of the level. The rfet' at
this puint is pinched to about Gill, owing to the linn class of country increasing tho fame. No. 1 winze has been advanced 5 feet.. I am carrying this portion per- | pcndicular for a few feet for the purpose of getting well into the Dunedin reef before going away on the underlie. Tho quartz at this point appears to be making similar to that m the level. Parallel reef, south face: This face has been advanced 10 feet, making a total of 174 feet to date. There being no change to report to that of my last report. 570 crosscut: Six feet have been driven in this direction, there being about 5 feet of quartz, which lias a promising appearance, and occasionally shows a little gold in the stone. No. i rise: No work has been done ill this rise for the week, owing to the shortage of hands, but it will be manned by two shifts next week. Sunbeam rise at the 920 mark: Two shifts have been engaged breaking ore nt this point, and leaving some lying underfoot.
