HILLIIiER WINS. ■ Yesterday saw the conclusion of the New Zealand Draughts Championship Tournament, when 11.I 1 . E. Hilliker (Dunedin) won the championship from J. E. Colderwood (Auckland) on percentage count. The tournament, which has heen played at tho Working Men's Club, has lasted for nearly a week, and "has been very enthusiastically contested. Each player scored 2G points. Horcham (Dunedin) came third with 22i points. J. Loggatt (Wellington). 22 points (handicap 3), won tho handicap tourney. C. Reid '"Wellington), 1Q points (handicap 9), was second, and Clinnt (Taranaki), 1-1 points (handicap 10), came third. A sum of over JMO has been paid in prize money. Mr. 11. G. Albertson was secretary o'f the tournament.
