CITIZENS' LEAGUE.

EFFORTS TO PREVENT SPLITTING OF VOTES. The Wellington Citizens' League held a meeting in tho Chamber of Commerce last evening, Mr. Thos. Bollinger in the chair. Matters concerning tho Mayoralty of Wellington were discussed, and it was decided to take a course that may be effective ill preventing a splitting of the votes among tho candidates, whose views find favour with the league. The members of the league are of opinion that it would be regrettable if the veal interests of the citizens wero jeopardised by any division of the poll which perhaps could be easily avoided by a conference. It will be 'their endeavour to attempt to bring the parties together as early as possible with a view to bringing about a workable. arrangement.
