WANGANUI BOROUGH TROUBLE.
COUNCILLORS QUIT ROOM.
(By Telegraph— Press Association.)
Wanganui, April 11.
The meeting of the. Borough Council ended dramatically this evening. At a previous meeting, when two avowed opponents of the motion were unavoidably absent, the council decided by a majority of one that the borough engineer's explanation of a charge made against him was not satisfactory. Notice was given by a councillor that lie would move at the next meeting that this resolution be rescinded. The matter came up this evening, when the Mayor refused to,accept the motion. Five councillors thereupon left the hall as a protest, and, thero not being a quorum then, the Mayor had to adjourn the meeting.
