At the close of the play on Suturdav last on the Hull Howling Club's green the opportunity was taken of saying goodbye to Mr. C. Trevcthiek, president of (lie club, who !<>avoi on a trip to England on Thursday next. On behalf of the members Mr. C. For the- Inst sixteen months St. David's Tresbytcrinn Church at Auckland has been without a settled inini.-ter. During tho latter six months tho charge has been temporarily filled by the Hev. ,Tas. Saunders, a recent arrival from Wales. 'I'ho work of both Mr. and Mrs. Saunders has been very much appreciated by the congregation, and at a meeting of the Presbytery on April !) it was announced that St. David's Church had extended a hearty call to Mr. Saunders. schools at Auckland, who has been suffering from a mild attack of typhoid fever, is now making rapid progress towards recovery.

Mr. 11. .1. Flntcnu. a representative ot the Loudon "Times," passed through Aucklund on Tuesday on liis way to Sydney. After spending two months in Australia, Mr. Flotcan will probably return to England, via. Japan and Siberia. He was formerly attached to the London "Daily Mail."
Mr. H. M'Pherson, a Scottish investor, was 0110 of tlie through passengers from Vancouver to Sydney by the Makura mi Tuesday. }le is going. to Australia with a view of securing land there. Mr. M'Pherson will probably return to New Zealand and prospect the country with a view to finding out what prospects arc offered to investors.
Mr. i\ Wnldegravo, lato Under-Secre-tary for Justice, and his (blighter (Mrs. Atkinson), left Auckland for England on Wednesday by the Mongolia.
Mr. ami Mr.". Bigwood (the lady being i well-known as Miss Carrie Moore, a noted 'Australian actress) arrived in Auckland nn Tuesday afternoon by tlio steamer Surrey, from Liverpool, via Sydney. ' It is their intentiuii to spend about a week in Auckland, and to tour New Zealand. Miss Moore's last theatrical engagement at Homo was in the principal role of "Our Miss Gibbs." Mr. Bigwood was nt one time a resident of Wellington.
The Very Kev. Father Griffiths, Provincial of flic Jiedemptorist Order from Ireland, who has been visiting the various houses of the Order in Is'ew Zealand, is at present in Wellington. He is accompanied by the l!cv. Father Murray.
