EASTERN HARBOUR SUBURBS UNITE.

The district which fringes the cnstcsn corner of Wellington Harbour, extending from I,owry Hay to Muritai, has a common interest us regards access. Up till tho present nil the ngitntion for improved access by road or ferry has come from tho residents of Eastbourne, but tin's Imrdon of protest is for the future to be more equally home by tho whole of the residents of the district immediately affected by the main issue. To this end an association is being- formed, of pro-perty-owners, who hove Iho interest and development of tho district at heart. Tho objects of the association are sot out in a circular issued to laiul-owuers yesterday. It reads as follows;—

"Tho object of the association will be to promote the general interests of such property-Oivners. In particular, at tho outset, attentiou is to bo given to the improvement of 'oad communication by way of l'elone and the Hutt. and of ferry communication with the city. Other matters of common interest to the memhtrs of the association will be taken up us occasion warrants. By the co-operation of pioperty-owners in a strong association, itis confidently anticipated that benefits will be secure-.! that would bo impossible with individual effort. You are invited to join the association, the subscription to which * has bo;n fixed at 2s. Gd. per annum. An interim committee has l>ecn sot up, composed of: Messrs. C. P. Sltnrrelt, K.C.
