COST OF WATER.
"EXTRAORDINARY" SUPPLIES. Tho City Council last night adopted & by-law regulating charges for extraordinary supplies of water from the city mains, following aro the operative clauses: 1. In all casea where nn "extraordinary" supply of water is required for any premises tho wholo of tho water supplied to such premises shall bo supplied through a meter. 2. Tho consumer of water supplied through ft meter shall pay tho water rati for ordinary supply in respect of such premises. 3. Tho charges for extraordinary water supply shall bo ascertained' as follows:— (i) The consumer shall bo debited with a charge of ninopence per thousand gallons during (a) tho period' commencing April 1 in any, year and ending September 30 next ensuing; (b) tho period commencing October 1 in any year and ending March 31 next ensuing,, (ii) If during any such half-yearly porwd tho charges so debited shall exceed half the amount of tho water rate for ordinary supply for that year in respect of tho premises Hie oxcess shall bo payable as water rate for extraordinary supply.
