Polo Gall. The ball held by tho Havk/s Bay J'olu Club in liniioui- of the visiting trains in "ho Drill Hall, Hayings, on Friday evening was one of the most siiccoMul functions over held in Hastings. The hall was furnished iuk! decorated in a m 0.4 lavish fashion, and in conformity the colours of the polo clubs that par- 1 ticipated in (.lie recent tournament. The supper room was also beautifully decorated, and (lie numerous tables artistically decked nut with colours representing the dillVrent clubs. The guo-ts on arrival were received by Sir William and Uuly Russell on lichaif of the club,' ami when the time for dancing came couples were present. Delightful music was supplied by Mrs. Hastings'* orchestra, and the M.C'.'s were Messrs;. W. G. Stead, G. N. I'hnrnzyn, H. A. Russell, 0. NeUnn, W. Mackenzie, and A. H. Kussell. The grounds surrounding the hall were nicely laid out and lighted with, fairy lamps, giving ample accommodation for sittingout purposes. A very excellent repast was provided by Mes-rs. Anthony and Co. Congratulation is duo to Mr. G. N. Phnrazyn, who organised and supervised tho whole of the arrangements, which were carried out in n most successful manner.
