20ft. should intersect No. 2 re?f. The country is of a good class, with quarts wringers running through it. The drive on No. 2 reef hay been advanced another three feet. The reef is in two parts, there buing about nine inches of quarts! on each side cf die drive, the middle being a. mixture of country and quartz veins. The quartz broken out showed rou\2 good dabs of gold, and all or it is being saved for crushing. A few pounds of picked stone were got from the back of the drive, near No. 2 crosscut, when cutting out ground ;o place limbers. Two small quartz bodies were cut, each about 6in. in width. Although one carries a littb bright mineral, no gold was seen. The ground is favourable, and a little water is is'-nine from the face. Old Ilauraki.—At vhe 400 feet level, No. 3 block, three stopes are in progress, and colours of gold coiitinu-s to be seen. At the 300 feet level, a chamber has been cut for a- winze 1o be sunk, to connect with the 400 feet level. In No. 2 block, two stopes arc being worked. The p?ef and country are favourable for gold.
