MISSIONS TO SEAMEN.
There was a large attendance at the Institute last evening, when an enjoyable conccrt was'provided by Mrs.. I.cighton, of Lower Hutt. The. missioner, Mr. I. S. Shell presided. Items were rendered bv the Hisses Smith and Natusch, -Mr?. LeHiton, Miss Leighton, Messrs. Natusch, Rushworth, and Rev Mr. M'Caw. Several selections were rendered by the ships band of the s.s. Otaki, which were highly appreciated. U was announced that the. opening .meeting of the Seamen s Club will be held to-morrow evening, when a social will be held, to which all seamen or ex-seamen are invited. A' mouth organ competition was held and won by Mr. Burg. Mr. Leo Buckcridpe adjudicated.. A. short temperance address was given by the missioner. Mrs. Natusch presided at the piano. A hearty vote of thanks wa* accorded Mrs. Leighton mid the performers, and to the Otaki band at the close. '
