ORPHANS' CLUB.
The final meeting of the executive of the Wellington Orphans Club before the annual general meeting, which is fixed for April 1 at the Gnnd Hotel, recently took p ace. Dr. Izard, president, was in the chair, lhe matter of securing more'commodious and comfortable premises was dicussed, and the finnl selection for permanent premises was made. The ensuing «ession will be held in the Masonic Hall. Loukmt Street, and the "first" nMit fit tins club will probably be held ou Mav •1 next. It was further decided to invite Ins Lxcellency tho Governor to accept the olhco ot patron and preside during the session. It was resolved to distribute the report, and balance-sheet to members before the annual general meeting. Tho secretary reported tho resignations of .Messrs H. C. Tewsley and S. Mcrau, who ore Heaving Wellington. Considerable regret wns expressed at their loss, as both °[» cors '> services have been invaluable to ho club. If. was resolved to recommend tho incoming committee to adopt a members badge this year. It was suggested, in -new of the visit of tho representatives of the Auckland and southern clubs, that the ladies' night be fixed for the saino time, and be hold in the Town Hull.
