WAIRARAPA P. & A, SOCIETY.
PLOUGHING MATCH. The Wairarapa and East Coast Pastoral and Agricultural Society's Ground Committee met on Monday, and after inspecting and considering plans and specifications drawn up for the proposed roofs to cover the society's sheep pens, resolved to call tenders for the work. It is confidently anticipated that the pens will be erected before next show, to be held in October. Tho Programme Committee met. in the afternoon of the same day, and resolved to hold the annual ploughing match on May 23. Several proposed sites were discussed, and it was decided to see settlers before next meeting, and report where the match isjto be held. A medal is to be given, to the best ploughing in two of the classes, and the winner to be the Wairarapa champion for the year. The appointment of-judges was left over until next meeting. It was decided to hold a jumping competition on the'same day.
