The death is announced of Sir James Coats, fit., the thread manufacturer. Sir James Coats was a director of J. and V. Coats, Ltd., the great firm of cotton thread manufacturers, which lias n total capital of over Ji11,000,000. He was bom in IS.II, and was a son of Sir Peter Ctn\t*. He was created a baronet in 1905. His heir is his Mr. Stuart Coats. The firm is one of the most successful combinations in the Empire. Besides coniluctinß Hie extensive business of J. and P. Coats, Limited, throughout the world, it. owus the dominant interest in the thread manufacturing firm of Clark and Co.. Jonas Brooks and Bros., and James Chadv-iek and Brother.' Its net profit for the year ending June 30 last was between .£1,000,000 and .£4,000,000. ME. JUSTICE HOMBURG. Adelaide,, March 25. ' Mr. Justice HomUurg, of the Supremo Court, is dead. The Hon.
