ROMAN CATHOLIC MISSION.
Tho ten days' Roman Catholic Mission, inaugurated on Wednesday last at Thorndon, has been remarkably well attended. Tho mission was conducted by the Rev. Fathers O'Connell, Kimbell, and M'Carthy. The attendances steadily increased till on Sunday Inst all the seating accommodation was faken up, and last evening (ho building was packed. The mission will be continued till Sunday next. The G o'clock mass in the morning is attended by over lflu men, the great majority of whom go daily to Iloly Communion, and there itre also good nttendnnccs id the 7 and H o'clock morning masses. A General Communion will take place next Sunday morning, followed by n breakfast in the schoolroom. A feature of tho mission, it is reported, is tho number of non-Catho-lics who have attended. The subjects expounded included the doctrines of the Confession, Real Presence, Devotion to tho Mother of God, and addresses on Sin. Social Evils of the Day, Death, Value of the Human Soul, Claims of tho Supernatural, were delivered. Tho missioners are all New Zealandors, who have just returned from a twelve months' tour of Tasmania, in Ihy course of whicfi they visited all the districts of that archdiocese.
