MASTERTON NOTES.

As a result of a visit to Mnsterton on Sunday of a number of .Wellington motor cyclists, accompanied by Mr. liridgc (the secretary of the AVellingtori Motor Cycling Chili), it lms been decided (o form u .Motorists' Club in Mnstertun. With this object in view a meeting , uf motor cyclists, of'whom (here oro not n few in thn AYairarapa, is to be held at an onrlv date. Mi. M. Lnvi-ry, barrister and solicitor of Masterton, has taken Mr. S. J. Moran, LL.B., of AYellington, into partnership, and has acquired the practice of the late Mr. C. A. Fownall. Xha members of the newly-formed Taralahi MVat Freezing Workers' Union held a social gathering on Saturday evening to celebrate tho inauguration of their union. Upwards of sixty members were present, together with a number of members of the Mastcrtqn Labour party. An interval race, in connection with the Mnsterton Homing Pigeon Club, was flown from Wellington on Saturday. Mr. AV. Drake's "Indox Qud" proved the winning bird. A farm hand, whn w,is giving evidence in the Supremo Court at Mnstorton on Saturday, stated that he had only worn three siiits of clothes in nineteen years. The first of the teachers' classes for the year was held in Masterton on Saturday. There are nt present sixteen patients in tho Masterton Hospital. At the opening of the season of the Masterton Golf Club on the Lansdowne links on Snturd.iv. nftminon tea wns provided bv Mr. mid Mr*. 11. 0. Williams. A lnhed l'mii'sonic medal handicap wni played over twelve holes, and was won by Miss J-lulines and Mr. A. IJ. Lawrence.
